      Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S90

      By David English

Pros: Relatively large LCD screen; fast response times; excellent color reproduction; superior low-light performance; competitively priced.

Cons: Limited manual settings; photos exhibit a slight softness; slow battery recharge times.

Verdict: The Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S90 doesn't offer many manual settings, and its photos are a little soft, but otherwise, this snapshot camera offers a lot for the money.

Sony Cybershot DSC-S90 Digital Camera Camera

      By Anush Yegyazarian

      Review summary: Sony's $300 4.1-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-S90 is a well-priced point-and-shoot camera that offers many of the features found on its higher-priced sibling, the 7.2-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-W7.

Verdict: In burst mode, the S90 can take four successive shots at fine resolution, or 30 shots at VGA resolution. By comparison, at VGA resolution the Cyber-shot DSC-W7 can take 100 shots in burst mode. Perhaps most disappointing is the S90's limited shutter speed

Digital Cameras - Sony CyberShot DSC-S90 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

Review summary: The Cyber-shot DSC-S90 is an easy-to-use but very capable offering from Sony, with a 4.1-megapixel CCD, 32 megabytes of internal memory, and a nice range of exposure options. The S90 provides more manual exposure control than most compact entry-level mode

Pros: Very fast, excellent shutter response, very good shot to shot speed

Cons: So-so handling of household incandescent lighting

Verdict: Though the LCD monitor is quite large and dominates the rear panel, Sony managed to keep all the functions necessary close at hand and easy to operate. Grab the camera in your right hand and your middle and third finger naturally grab the angled ridge on
