      Pros: Compact and thoughtfully designed; easy to use; solid image quality in most conditions; responsive.

      Cons: No manual settings; digital zoom can't be disabled; images prone to purple fringing and occasional yellow casts; no PictBridge support.

      Verdict: The compact, responsive, and bargain-priced Dimage E323 is a solid, no-frills point-and-shoot that handles the basics with aplomb.
