      Canon PowerShot SD960 IS

      By PJ Jacobowitz

Review summary: The 12.1-megapixel PowerShot SD960 IS ($329.99 list) is Canon's first, and the only model in its latest Elph line to get a widescreen LCD. This slick little point-and-shooter still gives you the option to take pictures in the traditional 4:3 aspect ...

Pros: Fast. Captures HD video. 16:9 LCD. HDMI-out. Long battery life. Produces less noise in images at ISO 1600 than its predecessor did

Cons: Pricey. Quality problems at outer edges of images

Verdict: The 16:9 LCD on the Canon SD960 IS lets you frame your shots to match the format of HDTV and widescreen laptop displays, and it records excellent HD video. Unfortunately, its price and some image-quality issues prevent it from being a point-and-shoot ...

      Canon PowerShot SD960 IS Review

      By Adam Crawford

Review summary: At first glance, the Canon PowerShot SD960 IS is your typical point-and-shoot, featuring the easy-to-use controls, smooth navigation, and basic operations most casual shooters expect. Although the SD960 is not your stepping-stone into DSLR photography ...

Pros: Well-built and very stylish ; Exposure settings work accurately and well ; Active Display technology ; HD video ; Consistent and fast autofocus ; Proficient ISO performance ; High-res 2.8 inch LCD

Cons: Overly saturated default picture settings ; Image quality when magnified shows considerable grain and noise ; Smudge Proof" LCD attracts lots of smudges ; HD video quality isn't great

Verdict: ELPH to have a 16:9 widescreen display and feature a unique user interface that uses a control dial like an iPod, allowing you to scroll through the basic operations of the Function Menu by twisting the dial in a circular fashion. Other standout ...

      Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS

      By Martin James

Review summary: Canon brings HD-quality video to the digital compact market – at a price

Pros: DIGIC 4 processor / 720p video / Impressive results

Cons: Too expensive / Controls difficult to master

Verdict: It's a camera designed to be a modern lifestyle accessory: packed with automatic controls and wide angle lens to make point-and-shoot an art in itself. And in that light, its lack of manual controls barely matters

      Canon IXUS 110IS

Review summary: Matt Grayson gets the first full review of the new Canon IXUS 110IS.

Pros: Great build; Fast start up; Bright screen; Wide screen; Colour Accent mode; Simple design; Good noise for the sensor size

Cons: Slippy covering when the camera will be shook; Maybe too minimalist?; Bad portrait result sends skin yellow

Verdict: It's an interesting camera that they've released in terms of design and styling. It has the feel of the old Mju 2 from Olympus and they've stripped a lot of buttons and stuff off the back
