Canon PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPH
By Jeff Keller
Review summary: The PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPH ($400) is a totally new design in Canon's line of compact point-and-shoot cameras. The SD300 takes everything that made the S400 and S410 great and makes them smaller -- except for the LCD, which got a lot bigger. ...
Pros: Very good photo quality (though see issues below) ; Ultra-thin, stylish metal body ; Robust performance ; Excellent continuous shooting mode (with the right memory card) ; First-rate movie mode (finally!) ; Big LCD for a small camera ; AF-assist lamp ...
Cons: Softness around edges and corners of photos ; above average purple fringing, as well ; Redeye ; Some vignetting, especially in flash shots ; Cheap plastic door over memory card / battery compartment ; LCD doesn't "gain up" very much in low light ; Can ...
Verdict: The SD300 uses the brand new NB-4L lithium-ion rechargeable battery. This small battery packs a paltry 2.8 Wh of energy, which translates to 140 photos per charge using the CIPA battery life standard. I figure that's around (or maybe a tiny bit below) ...

Canon PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPH Camera Review
By John Chow
Review summary: The SD300 is a near perfect digital camera. It's small enough to be taken anywhere and used anytime. It offers enough users adjustable features to keep a serious photographer happy and it's auto mode allows anyone to take great pictures.
Pros: Really fast start up time, Great picture quality, 30fps video at 640x480 resolution with sound, Fit in your shirt pocket - take it anywhere
Cons: Like all subcompact digital cameras, serious red-eye issues
Verdict: Manual mode is not really a true manual mode since the PowerShot SD300 always controls aperture and shutter speed. However, there are enough manual features on the camera to keep most of the "prosumer" from getting bored. Users have the ability to ...

Canon Digital IXUS 40
By Stone Forest (08/03/2006)
- Pros: Easy to use, change different modes withoug problems, user friendly
- Cons: Not as attractive as Sony's
Got the Canon Ixus 40 for my cousin, also my flatmate. So could experiment the new features. I myself used to have Ixus 450 and loved it! Now Ixus 40, have all the features as Ixus 450 but more user friendly and of course the smaller size!
Then I had the new Sony sexy T7 for myself and I found it is much much esier and better to use Canon Ixus 40. With Sony, it's extra difficult to use Night...
