Canon PowerShot SD700 IS Digital ELPH
By Jeff Keller
Review summary: The Canon PowerShot SD700 IS Digital ELPH ($499) isn't just another ultra-compact camera: it also features a 4X zoom lens (versus the 3X models usually found on such cameras) and an optical image stabilization system (which will give you sharper ...
Pros: Very good photo quality, low noise through ISO 200 (but see issues below) ; Optical image stabilization ; More zoom power than your typical ultra-compact (4X vs 3X) ; Compact, super stylish metal body ; Large, sharp 2.5" LCD display ; good low light ...
Cons: Some corner softness and vignetting ; redeye is a big problem ; Current zoom setting not shown on LCD ; no live histogram either ; Flash is less powerful than on SD550 ; Can only record about 8 minutes of VGA video due to 1GB file size limit ; More ...
Verdict: The PowerShot SD700 is known as the Digital IXUS 800 IS in some countries. Since the cameras have much in common I'll be reusing portions of the PowerShot SD630 review here

Canon PowerShot SD700 IS Digital Camera Review
Review summary: The Canon SD700 IS is a little bit larger than other Canon SD (Ixus) models. It is equipped with build-in flash and optical viewfinder (only 79% accuracy) at that top of the back; the buttons are located on the right side of the LCD. Like the other ...

Canon Digital IXUS 800 IS
By Anonymous (04/12/2006)
- Pros: View finder
- Cons: Screen is easily scratched
This is a great little camera. The screen is larger than many and gives good resolution, while there is also the option of the viewfinder if sunlight makes seeing the screen difficult.
Lots of different modes and effects so worth playing with before you need it for that special event. The battery seems to go on for ever before it needs charging.

Canon Digital IXUS 800 IS
By nuffinc (30/10/2006)
- Pros: looks & feels excellent. Recognisable features from previous models
- Cons: battery packs changed
Just a quick note on just receiving my camera by mail. It was purchased to replace my faithful IXUS 700 which Mrs Nuff unfortunately dropped.
It looks great & the larger screen is much better than on the 700 model. But I have to wonder if changing the battery was a cynical move by canon to sell more products.
My old IXUS 700 battery packs do not fit my new camera so I have to purchase a new...
