Canon EOS 350D Rebel XT Review Round-Up

      By Photocrati Staff

Review summary: The 350D / Rebel XT delivers an almost unbeatable package of quality, speed, size and price. The most obvious selling point is of course its 8 megapixel resolution, and while the difference between this and its 6 megapixel rivals can be subtle, it's ...

Review summary: Now the new Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (the EOS 350D outside North America) has been announced, Canon buyers have a problem. Should they buy the EOS 20D or save $500 and buy the new Digital Rebel XT - or maybe even save another $200 and buy the ...

Verdict: Well, you've read the article, you have to decide for yourself. The Digital Rebel XT is designed more for the newcomer to digital SLRs and for users who don't need the added features and durability of the EOS 20D. The EOS 20D is designed more for the ...

    Canon Rebel XT

Canon EOS 350D By James Kidder (01/09/2007)
    • Pros: Fantastic image quality, fast auto focus, low light performance
    • Cons: small hand grip, having to press the "set" button to set functions

I moved to this camera from a point and shoot and was instantly impressed by its fast autofocus and complete lack of shutter lag. I have been extremely impressed by its image quality and ease of operation. The best thing for me, though, is how it performs in low light situations. I have been able to push the camera to ISO 1600 to get great pictures that show minimal noise when I print them. Th... Read Full Review »

    Good camra but..........

Canon EOS 350D By ray abbots (08/02/2007)
    • Pros: Good value for money
    • Cons: None as yet

I have just moved over to digital after meny years of film on a EOS canon. I have to say this camra for beginers is an excellent choice, the operation is smooth and quite and the ease of use is great. I would recomend this to any one. The only thing I would have against this camra is its frailty, its memory port can be misused very easly, so be careful when inserting your card its easy to damage t... Read Full Review »

    350d

Canon EOS 350D By JOHN CAPENHURST (03/11/2006)
    • Pros: excellent starter camera
    • Cons: non digital acc (flash) is not compatible

I upgraded from film to digital with canon because the lenses are interchangeble, the screen size is a little small at 1.8, but is not a major problem, it is easy to use,I have yet to figure out a few modes, but lack of use at present, is my downfall.
all in all a very good piece of equipment, at an excellent price, the only downside is my prevous flash does not work with digital. Read Full Review »

    350D

Canon EOS 350D By Roger Curtis (02/08/2006)
    • Pros: Can use lens from my old ESO500, good soft ware, good pictures,
    • Cons: Easy to lose lens cap. No video capability

I waited a long time to go digital and have recently bought the 350D to replace EOS500 ( ordinary film type), once the price had dropped.

Gives clear pictures, takes many pictures in quick succession. With a 4MB memory card I am taking many pictures that are easily reviewed and edited.

When editing easy to zoom in without loss of definition.

Battery easily recharged. Easy to download on to TV ... Read Full Review »

    Great consumer camera

Canon EOS 350D By Anonymous (01/02/2006)
    • Pros: Megapixel, low noise levels
    • Cons: Grip is too small, less battery life than 300d

The 300d kicked goals, now almost everything has been improved with the 350d. Higher ISO speeds are now much more useable with excellent signal to noise ratios.

Quality on body seems excellent. Although the exterior quality of the EF-S lens seems poor, the optical quality remains excellent, and every bit as good as the current offering from Nikon/Nikkor.

Negatives - The battery grip is far too s... Read Full Review »
