Canon USA Powershot S60 Digital Camera Camera
Review summary: If your number one priority for a digital camera is that it doesn't pull your shirt pocket down to belly button level, you'll want to skip the Canon PowerShot S60. Though it has the typical oblong shape of a point-and-shoot and weighs less than its ...
Verdict: Though the updates found in the S60 make it a significantly better camera than the S50, they don't constitute a dramatic improvement. That may come with Canon's 7-megapixel version, the PowerShot S70, which is due in late August

Canon PowerShot S60
Award: Highly Recommended!
Award: Highly Recommended!
Review summary: On May 19th of this year Canon announced the PowerShot S60, the replacement to the fifteen month old PowerShot S50. Despite the '60' in its name the S60 has the same five megapixel CCD as the S50, this will no doubt be the cause of some confusion for ...
Pros: Good resolution (one of the best five megapixel), Good metering, nice tonal balance (more shadow detail), vivid color, Mature image processing, few artifacts, low moire, good detail, Wide angle zoom (28 - 100 mm equiv.), Control over camera's internal ...
Cons: Some purple fringing visible at wide angle or maximum apertures, Lens slow at telephoto (F5.3), Auto focus speed and shutter release lag no better than S50, Some under-exposure with flash, although can be compensated, No anti-reflective coating on LCD ...
Verdict: What we have here ladies and gentlemen is a compact G5, it may be missing the flip-out and twist LCD monitor but it does have a 3.

Canon PowerShot S60
Review summary: This review has been completed after using a production-level camera. All sample photos are from the production model S60. Thanks for your patience.
Pros: Very good photo quality (though see issues below) ; Lens starts at 28 mm ; Full manual controls ; Robust performance ; AF-assist lamp ; Supports telephoto conversion lens and underwater case ; Good battery life for a camera of this size ; Can save ...
Cons: Some softness in corners of photos ; Redeye ; Cheap plastic door over memory card / battery compartment ; Not much telephoto power (but a conversion lens is available) ; No live histogram in record mode ; Movie mode limited to 30 secs, 10 frames/sec ...
Verdict: Canon includes a 32MB CompactFlash card with the camera, which is a good starting point, but you'll want a larger card right away. I'd suggest 256MB as a good place to start. The included card is marked as "high speed", and from my own experiences I ...
