      Casio Exilim EX-Z300 review

      By Mike Perlman

Review summary: Will loads of Best Shot modes be enough to keep this Exilim camera's lens on the track, or will it spin out in the corner? Read the full Casio Exilim EX-Z300 review here.

Pros: Tons of beginner-friendly Best Shot presets. Ample LCD screen. Compact design.

Cons: Interface could use a pumping up. All settings are reset after powering off and back on. Weak low light performance.

      Casio Exilim EX-Z300

      By Tim Barribeau

Review summary: The Casio Exilim EX-Z300 sits at the top of the $200 to $300 price range for basic point-and-shoot cameras. Its look and feel are similar to dozens of other models on the market, with only a slightly longer-than-usual 4x zoom and a maximum aperture of ...

Pros: - Small body - Solid construction - Good dynamic range, resolution and manual noise scores -Maximum aperture of f/2.6

Cons: - Slow performance - Limited manual controls - Tinybuttons - Poor performance on automatic noise levels, video resolution and white balance

Verdict: The Z300 isn't a bad camera, it's just thoroughly mediocre with an annoying menu system. It did very well in a couple of tests, like resolution, dynamic range and manual noise, but struggled with automatic noise levels, video resolution and white ...

      Casio EX-Z300

Review summary: Both models feature a 4x optical zoom lens that covers a 28 to 112mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range. Users can enjoy a wide range of shooting options, from wide angle photography that is convenient when shooting large groups or objects, to telephoto ...

Verdict: Camera shake is compensated for by the mechanical movement of the imaging element in the camera. Of course, both cameras also incorporate Anti Shake DSP, which reduces photo blur due to moving subjects by raising the camera's sensitivity and allowing ...

      Casio Exilim EX-Z300

      By Kevin Carter

Review summary: Casio may not be the first name that springs to mind when weighing up your next digital compact camera purchase, but it's well regarded by industry insiders for its cameras' user-friendly operation, sturdy build and image quality. Casio cameras don't ...

Verdict: It would have been nice to see some manual exposure control or an aperture-priority option. Nevertheless, both models deliver good-quality snaps. The fact that file quality is so similar and both models have virtually identical handling and operation, ...
