      Fuji Finepix F50fd

Review summary: The Fuji Finepix F50 is a pocket sized digital camera. It has 12 megapixels and a 3x zoom lens. It has a number of extra features that can be hard to find on such a small camera. Picture quality is very good, especially in lower light.

Pros: Picture quality - shutter lag with flash - easy of use

Cons: It is hard to find fault

Verdict: This is an impressive camera. Small enough to fit into a pocket it can take a decent photo in most situations. It is one of the best lowlight compact cameras around. It also has a few extra features than a typical point and shoot camera. Recommended.

      Fujifilm FinePix F50fd

Review summary: One of Fujifilm's main aims for the F50fd was to build on the low-light performance for which its predecessors were renowned, while offering higher-res images. This tricky task has been successfully accomplished

Pros: Great low-light performance, Superior sharpness, Well designed and built

Verdict: 3x zoom lenses, CCD-shift image stabilisers, face-recognition AF, and 12MP sensors are all relatively commonplace these days but the F50fd brings everything together well. It's a highly intuitive camera that's fun to use and delivers great image quality

      Fuji FinePix F50fd (Silver)

Review summary: Controls are quick and intuitive, and even the most cunning features work intuitively and effectively

Pros: Great low-light performance, Superior sharpness, Well designed and built

Verdict: However, the Manual exposure mode is a misnomer - you can't change the aperture or the shutter speed. It's a fully automatic exposure mode that just lets you tweak settings like ISO and white balance

Fuji FinePix F50fd 12Mp compact camera

      By Alan Stafford

Review summary: Although it looks dull next to some of the flashier models we tested, the Fuji FinePix F50fd is a compact camera that has all the latest features and takes great shots.

Verdict: Fujifilm offers flashier, more colourful models. But if you're more concerned with what your pictures look like than what your camera looks like, then the Fuji FinePix F50fd is probably a good bet.
