      FujiFilm FinePix J10

      By Andrew Kliem

Pros: Relatively low chromatic aberration, pictures sharp enough for good 4in x 6in prints, fast shot-to-shot time, basic image stabilisation

Cons: Some over-sharpening issues, exposure a little off, loss of detail at higher ISOs, minimal features, sluggish start-up time

Verdict: It doesn't do anything fancy and its pictures aren't perfect, but the FujiFilm FinePix J10 is a decent entry-level point-and-shoot. Its shots are fine for standard 4in x 6in prints and its basic feature set won't bother novice photographers.

      Fujifilm FinePix J10 digital camera

      By Chris Hall

Review summary: Is this a compromise on quality?

      Pros: Price

Cons: Screen is poor, no output socket cover, no memory card provided, colour problems at distance

Verdict: This is really a question of budget and how much you get for your money. The screen is a serious shortcoming and would compel us to look elsewhere

Review summary: There's no shortage of cheap, easy-to-use shooters out there, but the real trick is to find one that takes good pictures without sacrificing key features. The 8-megapixel Canon PowerShot A590 IS holds the crown for the best entry-level camera we've ...

Pros: Ultracompact. Inexpensive. Easy-to-use menu system. Effective image stabilization.

Cons: Noise even at the lowest ISO setting. Worse-than-average barrel distortion on wide-angle shots. Overexposed flash shots.

Verdict: The Fuji FinePix J10 is an inexpensive and basic camera that's best for beginners.

      Fuji Finepix J10

Review summary: The Fuji Finepix J10 is a very simple, pocket sized camera. It is also one of the cheapest small compacts on the market. It has 8 megapixels, a 3x optical lens and is very easy to use indeed.

Pros: Ease of use - low price for pocket camera

Cons: Dark photos in high contrast scenes - small internal memory - macro mode could be better

Verdict: This is a simple, straightforward, pocket sized camera. It is also one of the cheapest small compacts on the market. As you would expect picture quality is not perfect in all situations, but overall the Finepix J10 gives a good account of itself. It ...
