By Zack Stern
Review summary: Like many of its features, photos taken with the 10-megapixel Kodak Z1085 IS look good initially but lose their luster on closer inspection. Most images are stippled with visual noise, and background details often jumble together. An optical image ...
Pros: Perfectly-lit shots sometimes turn out beautifully. Optical image stabilizer holds still- and video-modes steady. Manual mode can set aperture and shutter speed
Cons: Noise mars most images, even in bright daylight. 2.5-inch LCD gets washed out in sunlight. Disappointing HD video. Slow recovery after shooting a photo
Verdict: The Z1085 is a budget camera that we can't quite call a bargain. While it occasionally turns out excellent images, most of the time, you'll get what you pay for.
