Nikon CoolPix L18
By Andrew Kliem
Review summary: THE CoolPix L18 is fine for novice users but image quality and speed issues can be frustrating.
Pros: Low price, simple interface
Cons: Pictures a little over-sharpened, some visible graininess, can't manually adjust ISO, somewhat sluggish
Verdict: Nikon's CoolPix L18 is a basic, entry-level compact camera that does little to separate itself from the pack. It will be fine for novice users but anyone more discerning will be frustrated by the image quality and speed issues.

Review summary: You'll love the speed and ease of use offered by the value-priced Nikon Coolpix L189 camera.
Pros: Large, responsive LCD, Easy menu navigation, Fast continuous-shooting mode, Zoom active during video capture
Cons: Cannot select ISO, Limited options
Verdict: The L18's overall image quality was mixed. On our still life shots, exposure was slightly dark, colors muted, and nothing was really sharp and crisp. Our indoor available light shots had a slight blue cast. However, outdoor and action shots were sharp ...
