      Nikon Coolpix P6000 Review

      By Mark Goldstein

Review summary: The new Nikon P6000 is the most full-featured and highest-priced model in Nikon's extensive range of Coolpix compact digital cameras. Designed to appeal to the keen enthusiast photographer, the P6000's most obvious competitor is the Canon PowerShot ...

Verdict: The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a good camera in its own right, but doesn't quite cut the mustard when compared to its main rivals, the Canon PowerShot G10 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. There are just too many rough edges, with the noisy images at slow ISO ...

Nikon Coolpix P6000 Review - Digital Cameras

      By Leonard Goh

Review summary: nikon coolpix p6000 review: The P6000 is one of the first cameras to include GPS and it could well carve a niche for Nikon, but it has a lot of potential to be a better camera.

Pros: Geotagging features are relatively easy to use, Two user-defined modes, Zippy performance, Use of LAN port to transfer images intuitively, Professional design

Cons: Took several long tries to get a GPS lock, Raw image supported only by Nikon's ViewNX software, Image quality is acceptable but not impressive for a shooter in this class

Verdict: The inclusion of GPS into the P6000 could possibly carve a niche for Nikon, but the shooter has a lot of potential to be a better camera.

      Nikon Coolpix P6000 Review

      By David Rasnake

Review summary: Nikon's latest advanced compact, the Nikon Coolpix P6000, has potential, but quirks with its predecessor have left us nervous about what we'll find this time around.

Pros: Generally solid auto focus ; Customizable interface couldn't be much better ; Pro-grade build quality ; Rich, detailed images at lower ISOs

Cons: Luminance noise shows up in regular-sized prints ; GPS, network connectivity could have both been better ; Screen and viewfinder not a great combo ; Flash recycle times measurable with a calendar ; Underwhelming battery life

Verdict: Last generation's P5100 announcement was met with high hopes at DCR, but when we got our hands on the final product we were openly a bit disappointed. Slow AF was a primary concern for the P6000's predecessor, which earned praise otherwise for a ...

      Review: Nikon Coolpix P6000

Review summary: One of the first cameras to feature onboard GPS and geotagging capability, the P6000's functions are easy to use but the image quality could be better.

Cons: Took several long tries to get a GPS lock ; RAW image supported only by Nikon's ViewNX software ; image quality is acceptable but not impressive for a shooter in this class

      Nikon Coolpix P6000

      By Margaret Brown

Review summary: Replacing the P5100 model as flagship of Nikon's compact digicam line-up, the Coolpix P6000 features a slightly larger, 13.5-megapixel CCD sensor, EXPEED processing and 4x Zoom-Nikkor lens. Like its predecessor, it provides the P, A, S and M shooting ...

Verdict: Test shots taken with the review camera were bright and 'punchy' with the elevated contrast and saturation that typifies many small-sensor digicams. Exposures were pitched to record shadow detail so many shots taken in bright sunlight had blown-out ...
