Nikon Coolpix P80 Has 18x Optical Zoom (And It Shows)

      By Michael Kwan

Review summary: I thought the 12x optical zoom on the Canon was impressive, but this Nikon number blows it out of the water...

Verdict: I'm the proud owner of a Canon PowerShot S3 IS and I really enjoy the 12x optical zoom on this camera. It's great for public events, trade shows, and other situations where I want to get a little closer to the action without actually getting closer to ...

      Nikon Coolpix P80 Review

Review summary: Nikon Coolpix P80 Review - Nikon have decided enough is enough with cameras that only suit one type of photographer at a time and have produced a camera that everyone can use. Matt Grayson thinks it's about time as he was getting bored waiting.

Pros: Loads of features, Packing pixels, but not excessively, 18x zoom, Funky features such as Distortion Control

Cons: Colours slightly off for portraits, Flash gives horrible result, Noise is abysmal, EVF isn't very bright

Verdict: I'm sat on the fence with the P80. On the outside it looks the business with its oversized zoom, large grip and many functions. Then on the performance side, it doesn't seem to be up to scratch

      Nikon Coolpix P80 video review

Review summary: Chris Coleman checks out the smallest 18x zoom camera available to date. Watch our Nikon Coolpix P80 video review.

Pros: Great interface. VR stabilization. Good noise management. Distortion correction is a great feature.

Cons: At 18x, camera has issues with sharpness, color and lighting. Overall not as sharp as non-ultrazoom 10-megapixel cameras.
