      Nikon Coolpix S51c

      By Rich Trenholm

Review summary: The Nikon Coolpix S51c is a reasonable point-and-shoot that includes Wi-Fi connectivity. With a push of a button, you can send your photos off by email or upload them to a photo-sharing site. Besides its wireless capabilities, the camera produces ...

Pros: Sleek looks ; giant screen ; zippy scroll wheel ; some well-thought-out Wi-Fi features

Cons: Unspectacular lens ; public Wi-Fi connection issues

Verdict: We're primed to get excited about the camera that cracks Wi-Fi, but the Nikon Coolpix S51c sadly isn't it. An average point-and-shoot with some lens issues, the S51c has some well-implemented wireless features but is let down by the fact that it can't ...

Cons: Slow response times ; uneven image quality ; Wi-Fi settings unintuitive

Verdict: If you are willing to sacrifice a bit in photo quality and performance for the convenience of a compact design and the ability to upload photos to the Web instantly, the Nikon Coolpix S51c delivers.

Verdict: Nikon's CoolPix S51c offers a good option if you want to quickly and easily share photos with family and friends, however image quality aficionados maybe a little put off by the noise and slightly soft look of the shots.

      Nikon Coolpix S51c (Silver)

Pros: Nice click wheel ; sleek, slim design ; supports wireless 802.11b/g photo e-mail via T-Mobile HotSpots and private access points ; optical image stabilization

Cons: The lack of a built-in browser prevents you from being able to access most free public Wi-Fi access points

Verdict: This latest version of Nikon's Wi-Fi camera captures nice images and lets you e-mail them straight from the camera via T-Mobile or private access points, but since it lacks a browser you can't gain access to most free Wi-Fi access points.

      Nikon Coolpix S51c (Silver)

      By Philip Ryan

Review summary: Why mess with a good thing? That seems to be Nikon's approach to its Wi-Fi-enabled ultracompact cameras. When they came out with the Coolpix S50c last year, I noticed that it was extremely similar to its predecessor, the S7c. Now, Nikon has made the ...
