      Nikon Coolpix S52c Review

      By David Rasnake

Review summary: Nikon returns with another familiar looking Wi-Fi enabled Coolpix S camera, the Nikon Coolpix S52c.

Pros: Pleasing, true-to-life images ; Wi-Fi as good as ever ; Slim form factor ; AF performance dramatically improved

Cons: Still not always easy to hop on free Wi-Fi ; Battery life a challenge ; Lots of little lens niggle ; Some ominous body squeaks and rattles

Verdict: Admittedly, few of the issues that have dogged our S52c sincethe day it was delivered have been related to faults with the camera itself. But a combination of bad luck and bad karma have made it hard for anyone hereat DCR to really want to spend lots ...

      Review: Nikon Coolpix S52c

      By Leonard Goh

Review summary: The Wi-Fi feature is a good-to-have, but this shooter has lots of room for improvement.

Pros: Wi-Fi feature ; optical image stabilizer ; unique body design ; 3-inch LCD ; full-resolution high ISO capture

Cons: Wireless function has limited usage ; slow time-to-first shot ; poor high ISO performance

Verdict:  Unless you must have a Wi-Fi-enabled camera, there are better shooters out there that can deliver image quality and operate faster.

      Nikon Coolpix S52c

      By Rich Trenholm

Review summary: We've often wondered why cameras don't come equipped with wireless transfer as standard, especially as Bluetooth and, increasingly, Wi-Fi are ubiquitous in mobile phones. The Nikon Coolpix S52c bucks this trend -- it's a 9-megapixel snapper that ...

Pros: Automatic wireless back-up and email queuing ; nippy scroll wheel

Cons: Tiny zoom switch ; hard to hold one-handed

Verdict: Without Wi-Fi, the Nikon Coolpix S52c would be a stylish if unexciting 9-megapixel point-and-shoot. With Wi-Fi, it becomes a very clever snapper indeed, an automatic wireless back-up feature adding a chunk of points to our score

      Nikon CoolPix S52c

      By Andrew Kliem

Review summary: THE S52c is a good option if Wi-Fi connectivity is useful for you, however it is extremely slow at times.

      Pros: Wireless connectivity, stylish design

Cons: Very sluggish performance, noise not particularly well controlled

Verdict: Nikon's CoolPix S52c is a good option if Wi-Fi connectivity sounds useful for you. However, it is extremely slow at times, which becomes frustrating in some shooting scenarios.
