Nikon D300 (body only): Nikon D300 Review

      By J. Keenan

Review summary: The 12.3 megapixel Nikon D300 DSLR provides pro-body features - besting the from pro-level flagship D2X in many ways - at a price more in line with an upper-level prosumer camera.

Pros: Great image and color quality Improved ISO performance over last generation Nikons Impeccable build quality and robust body Terrific monitor Accepts virtually any Nikon lens

Cons: Cost, particularly if you don't have a lens

Verdict: the hierarchy of Nikon's DX sensor DSLRs has undergone a dramatic change: the D300 is the best of these digital Nikons. Better than the now less expensive D200, and better than the pro bodied D2X/Xs at a fraction of the cost. The D2X/Xs and D200 are ...

      Nikon D300

      By T3 Magazine

Review summary: For decades,Canon and Nikon have been tussling over market share like Kate Moss and Pete Doherty over a rolled-up tenner. The Nikon D300 is the latest addition to the fray.

Pros: Smart shooting; Image quality; Top tech features

      Cons: Weight; Four figure price-tag

Verdict: A dream for aspiring pros, a nightmare for the button-phobic, but perhaps few hundred quid too expensive, even for the amazing images it produces

      Nikon D300

      By Ellis Benton

Review summary: The Nikon D300 stands out in the crowded dSLR market. Its hot technologies -- a Live View screen, advanced autofocusing, digital lighting -- and faultless image quality are incorporated into a rock solid, high speed shell. The result is a camera that, ...

Pros: Huge Live View LCD with 920,000 pixels ; high speed focusing and shooting ; impeccable 12-megapixel photos ; built to last

      Cons: Heavy ; expensive

Verdict: While it doesn't have any truly revolutionary features, the Nikon D300 incorporates hot new technologies -- a stunning Live View screen, advanced autofocusing, digital lighting -- and faultless image quality into a rock solid, high speed shell. The ...

      Nikon D300 (w/ 18mm-200mm lens) review

      By Lori Grunin

Pros: Excellent performance and photo quality ; solidly built ; extremely flexible custom settings architecture ; onboard wireless flash controller

Cons: A bit too expensive, given the competition

Verdict: Visibly better photo quality and slightly improved performance make the Nikon D300 a significant upgrade over the D200 and an excellent all-around choice.
