      Olympus E-410

      By Andrew Kliem

Pros: Small design, live view, dust reduction, fast burst mode

Cons: Shots are a little soft at times, exposure issues, slow autofocus

Verdict: Olympus's E-410 isn't the best digital SLR on the market in terms of image quality, but its combination of live view, dust reduction and a small build make it a reasonable competitor to the giants Canon and Nikon.

Olympus Evolt E-410 and Evolt E-510

      By Arthur Bleich

      Review summary: Single-lens reflex siblings.

Pros: Extremely compact. Fine picture quality. Uses both XD and CF cards. Reasonably priced underwater housing available ; Memory card not included. Using Live View creates long shutter lag. Documentation could be clearer

Cons: Memory card not included. Using Live View creates long shutter lag. Documentation could be clearer

Verdict: . If you shoot a lot of candid action at normal- to wide-angle settings and want a lightweight, compact SLR, the Evolt E-410's for you. If your telephoto is usually racked out to its limit to capture that winning touchdown or elusive mountain goat, ...

Pros: Excellent picture quality and colours. Easy to use with accessible controls

Cons: So small it can be tricky to hold. Four Thirds means going out on a limb

      Olympus E-410

      By Bruce Buckman

Review summary: In its TV advertising, Olympus shows a happy snapper shoving his E-410 down his togs to escape the wrath of some irate musclemen at the beach. This ad, of course, stretches the truth to make the point that the E-410 is the world's smallest and ...

Verdict: Instead, the E-410 has a range of other attributes that help it go head to head with the 400D and D40x. Firstly, at least for me, was its pleasing image quality. The 10-megapixel Matsushita sensor powering the E-410 did an impressive job delivering ...

Olympus E-410 Review - Digital Cameras

      By Zennith Geisler

Review summary: olympus e-410 review: Olympus' compact dSLR for newbies, the Evolt E-410, is a decent choice if you're looking to save space in your bag, but issues with its automatic exposure and white balance make it an unsatisfactory option as a first dSLR.

Pros: Very compact for a dSLR, Speedy, Live View mode (LCD preview) operation

Cons: Subpar autofocus, exposure, and automatic white-balance performance, Some poor choices for default

Verdict: Olympus' compact dSLR for newbies, the Evolt E-410, is a decent choice if you're looking to save space in your bag, but issues with its automatic exposure and white balance make it an unsatisfactory option as a first dSLR.
