      Review summary: The Olympus FE-5010 takes good pictures and is easy to use. And if that's all you're looking for in a compact, then you'll probably be satisfied with this camera.

      Pros: Lightweight design that's easy to use ; handy, easy-to-activate backlight boost for LCD ; good image stabilization and face detection

      Cons: Nonstandard USB cord ; feature set a little spartan

      Verdict: Taking pictures with the FE-5010 is straightforward. You choose from one of four basic modes: Program Auto, iAuto, Scene, or Movie. Then set the zoom and click the shutter. The FE-5010 takes it from there, employing technologies such as dual image ...

      Olympus FE-5000

      Review summary: The Olympus FE-5000 is one of the cheaper digital cameras. It offers 5x zoom. This is a shade more than more basic models. This review looks at picture quality, general features and where to find the best deal.

      Pros: Ease of use - price for a small, compact camera

      Cons: Photos could be sharper - slow turn on time

      Verdict: Some of my outdoor test shots lacked sharpness. This knocks down the total score for the camera. It is still a reasonable camera in its price range, but you should be able to find better overall picture quality for around the same price.
