      Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 review

      By John

Review summary: The package overall does work well, I'm not convinced on some of the compact digital camera features that have been added (although face detection is a worthwhile addition for sure). But for high quality pictures and if you stick to Auto mode simple ...

      Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10

      By Jeff Keller

Review summary: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 is the second digital SLR from the Japanese consumer electronics giant. The L10 is the follow-up to the DMC-L1, which didn't end up in the hands of that many photographers (apparently), and I think it's ~$1700 price tag had ...

Pros: Very good image quality (though see issues below) ; Well built, easy to hold camera body ; Impressive kit lens has nice range, optical image stabilization ; Flip-out, rotating 2.5" LCD display ; Live view with contrast detect AF, face detection, ...

Cons: Doesn't seem $500 better than the similar Olympus E-510 ; Sensor a little noisier than average ; too much noise reduction at high ISOs (shoot in RAW to get around that) ; Contrast detect AF and associated features only work with two lenses (at time of ...

Verdict: As you can see, Panasonic threw some extras in the box with the L10, including a 1.2X magnifier eyecup, lens hood, and lens storage bag. I can't think of a digital SLR that comes with any of those as standard accessories

      Lumix DMC-L10K

      By Tracey Capen

Review summary: It would be unfair to call the $1300 Lumix DMC-L10K digital single-lens reflex camera (with a Leica zoom lens) a one-trick pony, but this otherwise average DSLR does have one extraordinary feature: A live-view mode that lets you use the camera's 2.5 ...

Pros: Good macro performance Articulating 2.5-inch LCD

Cons: No white-balance bracketing Limited software bundle

Verdict: If there is one compelling reason to consider the Panasonic DMC-L10K, it's the live-view feature. Otherwise, it's pretty average, and pretty pricey for its feature set, even though it does take fine photos

      Panasonic L10k

      By Rhiain Morgan

Review summary: The new Panasonic L10 bursts on to the market and its ready to play hard ball.

Pros: Excellent lens; Easy to use

      Cons: It's over-priced; Crappy viewfinder

Verdict: Excellent pictures and lens, spoilt by irritating niggles and a ridiculous price

      Panasonic Lumix DMC L10: Review

      By Mike Lowe

Review summary: Snazzy screen and compact-like functionality, is Panasonic onto a unique winner?

Pros: Snazzy free-tilting screen ; Live View is a quirk

Cons: Overpriced ; Only available with kit lens ; It's no good at "shots in the dark-! Noise and processing times are poor ; Price Comparison ; Panasonic Lumix DMC L10

Verdict: The price is a contentious issue, that is largely resolving itself by sheer force of discounting. At it's top-whack full retail price tag, the Panasonic DMC-L10 represents poor value for money, even factoring the snazzy swivel screen into the mix. It ...
