      Panasonic DMC FX35

Review summary: The Panasonic DMC FX35 is a pocket camera. It has a very simple, but stylish design. The camera has a wide angle lens. This is great for landscape photos and groups of people. Picture quality is very good and this camera is well worth a closer look.

Pros: Ease of use - wide screen movies - high angle LCD screen - design - picture quality

Cons: A touch more brightness for my indoor tests

Verdict: "This camera ticks most of the right boxes. Picture quality is very good, the camera is stylish and it is also easy to use. The camera also has the widest lens I have tested for a compact camera. It will also slip into a pocket."

      Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35

      By Jeff Keller

Review summary: At first glance, you may take a look at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 ($350) and say, "oh good, another ultra-compact camera". And, in many respects, that's just what it is. What sets the FX35 apart from almost everything else is its super wide-angle ...

Pros: Good photo quality, less noise reduction than previous models (though see issues below) ; Super wide 25 - 100 mm lens ; Optical image stabilization ; Ultra-compact metal body ; comes in three colors ; Sharp 2.5" LCD with excellent outdoor and low ...

Cons: Images on the noisy side, especially in shadow areas ; still some NR artifacting ; Slightly soft photos ; corner blurriness can be an issue ; Lens is lacking in the telephoto department ; More manual controls would be nice ; No optical viewfinder ; ...

Verdict: I included three different focal ranges in the example above, each representing common focal lengths on ultra-compact cameras. Most cameras in this class start at 35 mm or greater, though many have started to get closer to 28 mm. The FX35, along with ...

      Panasonic Lumix DMC

      By David Gussman

Review summary: Panasonic's FX line has been known for its superb features-in fact, most of its cameras have capabilities not seen in competing models. And the new FX35 (the follow-up to the FX55) has a lot to offer, like a new 4.4mm to 17.6mm wide-angle Leica lens ...

Pros: 25mm wide-angle lens. Intelligent LCD. Intelligent Auto mode has been improved. Very little noise at high ISO settings.

Cons: No joystick controller like on other F-series cameras. Small 2.5-inch LCD. No optical viewfinder. Flash underexposes images.

Verdict: With the latest model in its FX line, Panasonic has added some nice features but also took out its excellent joystick controller. This move lands the camera right back in the middle of the pack of midrange pocket shooters.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35, a review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35

      By Dan Havlik

Pros: Tasteful, solid design, Versatile wide-angle lens, Helpful Intelligent Scene Selector, Tasteful, solid design

Cons: Erratic Macro mode, Noisy images at higher ISOs, Fixed focus and zoom in Movie mode

Verdict: Panasonic crams a lot into the Lumix DMC-FX35, including an expansive zoom range that's perfect for landscape photos and an innovative Intelligent Scene Selector. However, its overall picture quality was inconsistent, keeping the FX35 from being a top ...
