Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ7
Pros: 300mm zoom lens (35mm equivalent), excellent face recognition and tracking, intelligent ISO, takes clear photos, 27 scene modes
Cons: Awkward placement of the shutter button, very loose mode dial
Verdict: Apart from a couple of design quirks, we think the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ7 digital camera is almost the perfect point-and-shoot. It's easy to use, has a wide-angle lens with a huge zoom, produces good colours and clear images, and it can double as a ...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7
Review summary: panasonic lumix dmc-tz7 review: Even though it's no longer the sole contender in the travel camera category, the TZ7 still stands far above its competitors. If it wasn't for the clunky mode dial and lack of manual controls, we would have no qualms ...
Pros: Excellent LCD screen ; 12x optical zoom ; HD video ; Clean, crisp images up to ISO 400
Cons: Mode dial has a tendency to fall out of place ; No manual controls ; Zoom in movie mode is achingly slow ; Flickering band across video

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7
Review summary: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 superzoom combines a 12x zoom and 25mm-equivalent wideangle lens with 720p video recording to create an excellent follow up to the earlier TZ6 model. This 'hybrid' camera produces superb images, but does it come out on top ...
Pros: Build and finish ; handling and controls ; stills quality ; movie quality ; 12x zoom and super-wideangle lens
Cons: Slow zooming and AF in movie mode
Verdict: Panasonic's Lumix DMC-TZ7 is a better camera than the TZ6, so why have we given it a slightly lower score? Because, although the TZ7's movie mode is great, the AF and zoom need to be quicker. But hey, you're getting a top-quality, 12x super-wideangle ...

REVIEW-PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-TZ7
Review summary: This 10.1 megapixel camera has a 25-300mm (film equivalent) Leica-branded, optically stabilised lens. The large (75mm) LCD screen is of decent resolution and useful even in sunlight. It takes face detection to a new level - it "recognises" people! ...
Pros: The still image quality is outstanding, with excellent colour, sharp focus and effective image stabilisation. Even at the full, remarkable, 300mm extension images are sharp. Video quality is good, even if it is not broadcast quality. Remember that you ...
Cons: The price puts the camera up against some impressive entry level DSLRs, any one of which will produce better images, albeit without the benefit of portability and the video mode.
Verdict: This is a very good camera. Indeed it is one of the best compacts, as it should be at the price. Panasonic seem to have dealt with the noise problem that has plagued their compacts in the past. Images are now clean and sharp, at least up to ISO200, ...
