    Disappointed

Samsung Digimax A50 By TOM RAWLINSON (25/12/2007)
    • Pros: Decent pictures
    • Cons: Reliability

Been troublesome - managed to break the screen - not by dropping it, but inside a pretty solid leather case, in a jacket pocket hanging over the back of my chair, just swinging my chair round!

And periodically the lens jams in the closed position. It's better with high-capacity batteries (why?), as I discovered after sending it back twice, but it happens for up to a week for no apparent reaso... Read Full Review »

    Samsung A50

Samsung Digimax A50 By John Parnell (15/09/2006)
    • Pros: Easy to use, good instructions. Does what it says on the box.
    • Cons: screen could be clearer in daylight

I got the A50 more by luck, my previous camera broke down twice the store had no replacement, not a Samsung, and I decided to try the A50. I have used both video and stills. I can't fault the results. Recommend you use a SD card. Read Full Review »

    Samsung A50

Samsung Digimax A50 By Anonymous (05/12/2005)
    • Pros: movie mode
    • Cons: picture quality, weak flash

Movie mode is very good, 640, 30fps, MPeg4 and you can use the optical zoom while recording, although it mutes the sound when you do so. A 512mb card will give you about 22mins of movie. It has a pause button allowing stop start continuous recording, although this needs a good push sometimes. It has low light focus assist, but low light recording is poor compared to a mini dv. Unfortunately there ... Read Full Review »
