      Samsung WB550 digital camera

      Review summary: Want a compact but wide angle snapper?

      Pros: Small if chunky form factor, broad zoom range gives rise to more creative framing and compositional options than usual, HD movies with stereo sound

      Cons: Narrow and painful to use command lever at rear of camera, positioning of the built-in flash at front means that stray fingers can sometimes get in the way

      Verdict: Fans of photographer Martin Parr who like their images almost unnaturally colour rich will find the Samsung WB550 a deserving companion for the occasional snapshot, and one that will bring them closer to the action to boot
