      Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 Review

      By David Rasnake

Review summary: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 is yet another take on the emerging compact ultra-zoom theme, sporting a 10x optical zoom in a larger compact-camera package.

Verdict: Like most Sony models, the H3 uses the company's proprietary Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo formats exclusively. Expect about 300 highest-res shots for every 1 GB of storage space. Note that the H3 allows "hot swapping" - changing memory ...

Cons: No real wide angle, Manual mode only offers 2 F-stop settings, Slow, unreliable focus in low light, Mediocre build quality, Only basic external controls, Longwinded menu structure, Screen has a low resolution for its size and is not very bright, Non ...

Verdict: I must admit I wasn't that impressed when I first held the Sony H3 in my hands.

      Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 review

      By Ben Pitt

Review summary: The H3 is small and light for an ultra-zoom camera, so it's good for times when a bulkier camera would be impractical.

Verdict: The limited manual options and menu-based controls mean it's no good for creative photographers, but the 10x zoom lens, low noise, fast performance and competitive price make it one of the best casual-use ultra-zoom cameras we have seen.
