      Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150 Review - Digital Cameras

      By Rosanne Hodgekiss

Review summary: sony cyber-shot dsc-w150 review: Available in black, red or silver, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150 offers 5x optical zoom, face detection and optical image stabilisation amongst its feature set.

Pros: Excellent quality images at a wide range of sensitivities, Optical image stabilisation corrects some hand-holding issues, Large, bright LCD screen

Cons: Time to buy some Memory Sticks!, Small buttons can make navigation difficult

Verdict: Yet another salvo in the megapixel war, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150 compact digital camera can't boast a revolutionary feature-set, but it can pride itself on producing vibrant, quality photos and of course, more megapixels.

      Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 Review

      By patia

Review summary: The Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 is an attractive little camera with a $249 suggested retail price tag. It captures high-quality photographs in a variety of lighting conditions. I took it with me on a business trip to Miami and also used it to photograph ...

Pros: Small and lightweight - perfect for carrying in a pocket or purse., Super SteadyShot image stabilization., Excellent image quality in a variety of conditions., 8.1 megapixels for prints to 16×20 inches., 5x optical zoom (30-150mm equivalent)., Large, ...

Cons: Menu settings and mode dial less than intuitive., No manual shutter or aperture control., ISO can only be changed in Program Auto mode., Only a handful of exposure modes., Tiny optical viewfinder does not show full scene.

Verdict: I have mixed feelings about the Sony Cybershot DSC-W150. While it was far from love at first use, I find I'm a little sad to have to send my review copy back. I really like how easily the W150 fits into my purse and the excellent image quality it ...

      REVIEW-SONY CYBERSHOT W150

Review summary: This is an 8 megapixel camera with a zoom range of 30mm to 150mm, film equivalent. Body construction is rugged, with beautiful fit and finish. Operation can be either fully automatic or in program mode, which gives the user a degree of control. Some ...

Pros: The picture quality is good, with fine resolution and colour rendition. At ISO200 noise reduction is well judged, although there is some blurring of fine detail. The pictures are as clean as any we have seen from an 8 megapixel camera.

Cons: There is no proper printed instruction manual, only a pamphlet that doesn't even tell the user how to change the ISO setting or exposure compensation. If Ricoh, for example, can provide a 210 page printed manual then Sony should do no less. And we do ...

Verdict: We are impressed. The black model that we had for testing is handsome. It has a high quality feel and appearance. The inclusion of an optical viewfinder is a plus, even if it is small and restricted in the coverage of image area. It has the usual ...

      Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150

      By Andrew Kliem

Review summary: OVERALL this is a decent camera, however the interface and shot taking can be very slow at times.

Pros: Sharp pictures, 5x optical zoom with stabilisation, smile shutter is kind of nifty

Cons: Slow interface, sluggish shot-to-shot time, purple fringing and haloing issues

Verdict: Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-W150 is a fairly decent compact cameras with a few niggling issues. Aside from some purple fringing it captures good shots. The interface and shot taking can be extremely slow at times, which is frustrating.
