A Curate's Egg: good in parts

Pros: flexible, excellent picture quality
Cons: Heavy, and needed a repair under guarantee

I am not an expert photographer. I simply want to take good pictures of sometimes quite distant and/or moving subjects. The powerful optical zoom (10x) impressed me, and the 8m size means that on a clear day the 4x digital zoom is pretty useful too. The vibration reduction works well: I have had sharp hand-held shots at 1/15 sec.
I would have rated it higher if it had not started displaying "system Error 2" when only 8 months old. It was repaired satisfactorily under guarantee.
