Canon Ixus i5

Pros: Light, convenient, easy to use
Cons: no optical zoom

I can't praise this handy little camera enough. I get wonderful quality pictures with it. It's such a handy size, I carry it everywhere, even clipped to my belt when I'm on my motorbike. The software suplied is intuitive and works with my other camaras too. The only drawback I've found is that it's not really suitable for motor sport photographs. I have a larger format digital and the only advantage is when I need the optical zoom and some of the other semi-pro features.

If you do buy it, buy a bigger card tho' the one supplied is a bit small, once you start using it in ernest.
