Fuji S-9600 digital camera

Pros: Stunning clarity, Quick response, a major step forward
Cons: Slightly bulkier; slightly heavier - but I'll get used to it

I upgraded from a Fuji S-5600 which I had purchased in May 2004.
Using 2GB XD cards in 9MP mode, the chip capacity is north of 900 pictures. Switch it on and it's ready to rock MUCH quicker than the older camera.

This camera, even in default mode, makes the most of even low light levels. Crisp, accurate pictures; wide field of view, easy to operate.

The adjustable LCD screen is great - position the camera, move the screen and watch in comfort as you take your pictures. I worried that this big screen might be prone to scratching, then realised that the old one survived, unscathed, weekly trips by plane around the UK. Might be an idea to by a padded bag - like the one which Fuji provide for the 9500/9600.

Twist-to-zoom will take a bit of getting used to, but I know that this camera builds successfully on the excellent service which I received from my out-going S-5600.
