When I first got to hold this unit I found the grip a bit large and although I think people with small hands might find it so I soon got used to it, that said for the money it's a great piece of equipment. I upgraded from a Fuji S-5600 which I had purchased in May 2004.
Using 2GB XD cards in 9MP mode, the chip capacity is north of 900 pictures. Switch it on and it's ready to rock MUCH quicker than the older camera.

This camera, even in default mode, makes the most of even low light levels. Crisp, accurate pictures; wide field of view, easy to operate.

I already owned an S7000 which is a cracking camera, but the S9600 is steets ahead, with 9 million pixlels the image is so much sharper.
its a true photographers camera, dont buy if you want a point and shoot, but if you want a camera that you can work with to get the photos you want then this is one to concider Read Full Review »
